"I would consider using a local electrical wholesalers. Most are quite helpful and will be cheaper than others mentioned. You dont have to have an electrical background to use these wholesalers either."

"Being a electrician for many years, I've had many prices from different wholesalers and surprisingly Toolstation has been the cheapest lately. My recommendation would be if the electrician has priced per point basis, materials and labour are included then all materials will be his responsibility and you would save money by not buying eg. 50m roll of cable for a 30m run as cut to meter cable is more expensive."

"If you are asking such a question I would suggest you do not have the knowledge to rewire your own house."

"We as Flinkar limited are dedicated electrical rewire company and we provide full rewire supply and fit service with no hassle for you. We buy all our materials from Screwfix which are British made and are a very high quality"

"I would advise against rewiring your own house unless you are a qualified electrician for multiple reasons, firstly being a case of insurance, if you were to rewire your house and not have it tested as a new installation, and something was to go wrong, your housing insurance company would likely not cover the damage, secondly most electricians will not test other people's work as they do not know the methods the person has used. All electricians currently have a good working knowledge of the IEE 18th Edition wiring regulations. A DIY installer I would imagine, would not have that knowledge."

"There is not normally much in prices. Screwfix is fairly competitive. Its only if your buying alot of cabling that you will be able to get noticeable discounts."
