Will roses grow in the shade?

Is it possible to grow roses on a shaded wall and will it blossom?

"Most roses like a sunny position, but some grow well in shady areas.

They don't like the shade from trees and the trees will also draw moisture from the soil.

Most roses cannot take full shade and you will need about 4 hrs of sunshine per day ideally."

"Yes, will not be a problem. Just try to cover until when the temperature will be high so it does not affect the plants"

"Yes, it is possible, although there should be partial sun, some breeds of roses do better than others, a couple of shady area roses that come to mind are Scarborough Fair and one named after the famous garden designer Gertrude Jekyll."
