Why does my room smell like fish?

There's a strange fishy smell in one of our bedrooms that comes and goes. I've cleaned everywhere but can't find the source. Something I read on the web said it could be an electrical issue?

"loose connection in one of the electrical accessories. The fishy smell comes from the plastic overheating"

"That fishy smell is a serious electrical warning due to loose wiring and thermal effects .

* Turn off power at the breaker if safe
* Stop using sockets/appliances in that room
* Call an electrician urgently"

"Mostly likely the insulation around the wires burning it has a fishy smell, this could be serious, you should get it checked out"
