Which side of plasterboard do you paint?

I am sure this is so obvious to the experts here, but I want to be 100% sure. One side feels a bit shiny and the other is more fibrous, and I don’t want to get halfway through decorating only to realise I’ve used the wrong face

"Paint the white side, make sure you fill all gaps with tape just paint straight over the board"

"You always paint (or skim) the smooth, finished face of the plasterboard — not the fibrous side.

The smooth side is designed to take plaster or paint, giving you a clean finish. The fibrous/brown side is the backing and isn’t meant to be decorated."

"paint the smooth side of a plasterboard, the same side you skim. If it feels smooth and looks clean that’s your painting side."

"The fibrous side of the board is the back of the Board. The smoother shinier side is the side you should paint"

"The brown side is the back of the plasterboard and you always paint the colour side ie pink grey green or blue"
