Hi, how often should I have my electrical equipment tested?

"Hi all electrical equipment in offices and workplaces should be PAT tested at least every year. Some items need more frequent testing as in 3 months or 6 months. In your home this is different. If you're renting. And your landlord is supplying white goods that need testing every year. If it’s your own appliances this is down to your discretion as there are actually no rules on this for personal equipment in your own home."

"PAT test is a yearly test and a competent person can do the tests it doesn’t have to be an electrician but hiring an electrician to do it may give you peace of mind."

"There's isn't any guidelines that require any particular interval but I usually put a 12month ticket on all my items I test unless it's heavily used than 6 months."
