What trade would I need for this?

Hi all,

I'm half way through a home insurance claim for water damage from an upstairs shower. The leaks have been fixed and the structure is now dry.

As part of the process the home insurance company outsourced the leak detection and drying out to a company who essentially stripped the ceiling of a bedroom (i.e. no ceiling at all) and removed water damaged insulation.

What needs to happen now is someone to put new insulation back, get ceiling plaster board in and decorate I assume.

What trades would do this? I'm totally lost and the insurer isn't helping either.

"I think you would be better looking for a builder/multiskilled tradesmen who can do all of the jobs, otherwise it will be difficult to get individual trades to do the work."

"Hi there
4 trades required for this job
1 joiner for the insulation and plasterboard.
2. Plasterer for the skimming of the ceiling.
3. Electrician for the pendant / light.
4. Painter to complete the job.

But I’d suggest getting a company who dose all, this will save you having to manage and negotiate costs with all 4 trades.

Hope this information is of some use to you.

Regards"

"Best would be a multi trade builder, the works would be done through one point of contact this way. Otherwise individual trades for each stage of making good, this can be more expensive and often longer as organising trades to follow on from each other. Individual trades would be more than likely plasterers to board and skim ceiling, electrician if required then painter and decorator. Hope that helps."

"Dry liner to install insulation and plasterboard, should be able to skim finish, if not a plasterer would be required, then a decorator to complete.
Note no mention of electrics, assume a light fitting would be in the room at minimum and would require a lvl 3 qualified electrician to re fit."
