What sand for render

I’m getting ready to render a small outside wall and keep seeing different sands mentioned. What should I be using?

"Hi you should be using plastering sand with lime and water additives"

"Hi, you should use sharp sand or plastering sand as it’s smooth and creates a nice finish also use cement. Using any other sand can cause a rough finish and shrinkage which then results in cracking. Best ratio is Often 3:1 or 4:1 (sharp sand to cement) for better adhesion."

"Ask for fine building sand not sharp sand there is two most common kinds of sand and then there is white sand which is called white sand hope that helps you need fine building sand"
