What is a fair price to fit a doorbell?

Our old wired doorbell has stopped working entirely. Would an electrician charge much to fit a new one or is this the sort of job a handyman could do more cheaply?

To be honest I would recommend an electrician to do the best job, potentially fault finding existing doorbell system and replacing with similar parts/part. 
Just what I would do as long as I was happy with existing design and capabillities.

Straight swap/wireless £70, entirely new run/ install £130+ depending on type and run

Handyman: around £40–£70 labour for a like-for-like replacement.
Electrician: around £60–£100+, depending on their minimum call-out charge.
If the existing wiring or transformer/chime needs fault-finding, I’d expect more — potentially £100–£150+.

You can purchase yourself a plug in chime and doorbell, very easy to install which you could door yourself.

If It was just the push button that needed replacing I would say a fair price would be £50

It depends entirely what’s failed exactly… ie transformer or actual bell or even bell push 
 So these would need to be tested in order to find your solution .. I’d just get a battery operated remote bell push / sounder and save yourself a call out of approx £95 upwards
