What fixings for Billy bookcase hack?

I've seen lots of Ikea Billy bookcase hacks where two or three are joined together to make one big wall unit. But I can't find info on what fixings you need to do this. What would they need to tether them together and to the wall to make them sturdy?

"Hello, in my opinion a simple way of doing it is just use 2 M4/M5 bolts with nuts underneath the last shelf, the a small metal plate with 4 holes (2 to each side) above. To be more secure ( depends the weight) you can add couple screws under the fixed middle shelf or even a very small amount of glue in between, although is better just with 2 screws in case you want to alternate the bookcase later in the future."

"I can’t guarantee that these are the exact fixings that they exact people used, however, I have used them in the past & they worked. You would need to check that they are the length for the two cabinets that you are joining together. I think they might come in standard sizes, but I can’t guarantee it. To use the fixings you need too:
1.) Clamp the two bookcases together, making sure they are flush with one another at the top and back
2.) Use correct size drill bit drill from the two book cases, making sure to drill from each side to prevent tear out. (i would recommend a forstner bit or a flat wood drill bit, also known as a spade bit. But any drill bit of the correct diameter should be okay. But like I said, I would recommend a forstner bit or a flat wood bit),
3.) simply insert the fixings and tighten them with the correct screwdriver, (9 times out of 10, this will be a flathead screwdriver)
4.) remove the clamp and admire your work.

"They come with small pins that go into holes on the top of the book cases to keep them together. They’re not hugely heavy duty, however if the book cases are anchored to the wall with the supplied fittings it should do what you need it to."

"Some double sided foam tape between them and some flat brackets at the back will do the trick. Then some L shaped brackets to connect to wall"

"Hi, depending on the setup you desire, you can simply use 'spacer' pieces of 3"x2" (bigger or smaller) wood with standard wood screws between the units. You then can cut the finishing face strips of wood or use finishing strips to attach directly to the spacer pieces of wood with with glue, brad nails or screws to create the desired visual effect from the front and make it look like 1 whole unit."

"IKEA provides connecting bolts with most of their furniture, including Billy bookcases. These bolts can be used to connect two or more bookcases together. You will need to drill a hole in the side panels of the bookcases and use the bolts to secure them.
Metal L-brackets: Another option is to use metal L-brackets to connect the bookcases together. You will need to attach the brackets to the top and bottom of the bookcases, and then screw them together.
Wood screws: You can also use wood screws to connect the bookcases together. Drill pilot holes through the side panels of the bookcases and then screw them together. Make sure to use screws that are long enough to go through both bookcases.
To make the bookcases even more sturdy, you should also tether them to the wall."

"To fix the wall, you will need wall plugs matched to the type of wall (full brick, drywall). The best way to connect the cabinets with each other will be the so-called. through bolts"

"BIlly book cases come with a L shaped bracket that screws into the top of the book case and can then be screwed to the wall to make it secure.
It attach book cases together to create giant book cases you simply screw through the sides pulling them together. The same way wardrobe units or kitchen cabinets are. This pulls the units tight together and gives you a great finish."
