What are the best plants for shade?

I need shade loving plants ideas because we have a small north facing garden and a 3 storey house. The garden doesn’t get a lot of direct sunlight but we want to line the edges with flowerbeds or something nice. I need ideas for types of flowers that grow in shade. Which types of shrubs or flowers would be best suited to thrive in low light?

Just mind that many plants grow in the shade but not all of them like the same type of soil.

    Some suggestion for you

    Aucuba japonia
    Fatsia japonica

    Caltha palustris
    Vinca minor and major
