Touch Up Ceilings and Paint Walls
Report on Stefan Farcas: I needed a decorator fast - new tenants moving in shortly. Stefan was first to respond, swiftly and I didn’t look elsewhere. He turned up 2 hours later than agreed, took a cursory look at the flat, required £830 up front to his bank, then went to B&Q for paint (when there he phoned to ask what colour I wanted, then back to start with his mate. About 2 1/2 hours later said he had to leave (problems with police, he said). Said he would return Saturday morning, taking all paint & equipment with him (why?). After he went I found ceilings not touched, areas on walls unpainted, drips & smears everywhere, and by now he had told me ‘he doesn’t do woodwork. Unimpressive, but he said he would be back Saturday morning. By Saturday evening no sign, so texted him ( his phone was encrypted). He phoned back with various unconvincing excuses, and by now I had lost all confidence in him. Told him I would pay him for hours so far, materials plus severance., if he would return £400 of what he had already had, by Tuesday 12noon. If he had done so, he would have made £430 for those few hours. New deadline Friday (October 9th),a d no sign of him, by which time I and friends had finished the job. Properly. I would not recommend this person.
