Trench for cable

Hi we need to put a 16mm armoured voltage cable from. Our house to our detached garage! About 25 meters distance over our Drive . How deep should the trench be as I was told only 300 mm deep would be sufficient by a Solar company!
This sound too shallow so I'm looking for advice.

"Hi

Regulations state that it should be a minimum of 450mm under a footpath and 600mm under a driveway. If it is just in a garden 500mm is the normal rule of thumb."

"The typical minimum depth recommended (also referenced in IET Guidance Note 1 and the On-Site Guide) is

Minimum depth: 600 mm (0.6 m) under garden or open ground.

Minimum depth: 450 mm under paths, drives, or areas with only light vehicular access."

"For a 16 mm² SWA cable over a driveway, 300 mm is too shallow. According to BS 7671, bury directly in soil at 500 mm minimum, or use a rigid duct at 225–300 mm with warning tape above."

"Armoured cable should be buried at a minimum depth of 450mm in areas with pedestrian traffic and 600mm in areas with potential for vehicle traffic or other heavy disturbance. The depth depends on the likelihood of it being disturbed by digging or other activities; a depth of at least 500mm is often recommended for a garden, with deeper burial being safer in areas like vegetable patches."

"Hi

The depth of the trench should be 500 -600 mm deep. If you can get it more deeper the better it is."

"yes I would say 300mm if you are too worried about it then put it in a metal copex or conduit"

"The recommendation is 600mm. However, 450mm should be sufficient if you are installing in a back garden."

"Hi,

The minimum cable depth would be 450mm, hope this helps"

"450mm under footpaths or areas with light foot traffic and 600mm under roads or where vehicles will drive. A minimum depth of 500mm is normally recommended in gardens to avoid digging into it."

"450mm for under paving and slabs etc. 500mm under garden routes where digging may happen and 60+ for heavy walkway, driveways etc. make sure yellow warning tape is laid above cable"
