"This would vary dependant on type of cistern required, any alterations to existing pipework etc."

"Hi - Given it's an outside WC I would guess you have a rather old toilet pan too. The following information is also based on the toilet being low level (rather than high level or close coupled). These old toilet pans were developed during a time when very little consideration was given to the amount of water required to flush away the contents of the pan. Tempting as it may be, you might be advised to go for a relatively inexpensive 6 litre cistern, which is unlikely to contain sufficient volume of water to flush the contents of the pan away (these work fine on modern WC pans where they have been designed to work on low water flush volumes). This being the case, I would strongly suggest going for a cistern that contains at least 12 litres. Thomas Dudley produce a 13.5L which retails at around £80. If you were happy to dispose of the old cistern yourself I would swap this over for you for around £70 (so to answer your question, about £150."

"Estimate £130 plus parts around £50 if no unforseen circumstances and all standard parts"

"Each toilet and cistern are designed to work with each other. You could try sourcing the exact same cistern as the one you want to replace, but in reality, it’s time to change the toilet as a complete unit."

"Hi Leon
First you need to find out what type of cystern will be installed, so give you time and cost. Picture very welcome. Also you need to check if isolating valve is working properly on cold water feeding cystern."

"To fit a cistern is a relatively straight forward, normally costs about £100"

"Good evening, the cost to replace a cistern is possible providing they still make it possiblyaround, £60/90, but it is far more economical to replace the the toilet for the sum of around £160:00, consider this, would you replace an engine in a car, 0r buy a new car
Cheers
Mark"
