Thermaskirt on partywall rising damp

We have rising damp on a party wall which is quite bad, we have taken off the plaster to reveal quite bad bricks (the house is very old) i was wondering that once we have done what we can would the thermaskirt skirting boards be a good idea to keep it at bay for future?
Thanks

"Hi, I would recommend having a damp survey done and installing a Damp Proof Course accordingly. Thermaskirt will only sit on the front of the wall and heat into the room and up the wall as it’s installed with a metalic backing to direct heat away from the wall and into the room. Hope this helps. Thank you"

"Hi Deborah

This wouldn’t really make any difference, you should apply insulation plasterboard, to completely stop the problem a dpc tanking membrane could also be applied, feel free to contact us if you require any services or advice.

"Hi there,

I would suggest visiting next door to identify any leaks that may have penetrated through.

Applying thermal skirting or boards may not be a good idea if it is an ongoing issue as you will just be masking the issue and eventually come back to hacking off and restarting.

You need a Damp Surveyor to investigate this in more detail and advise/recommend accordingly."

"Hi, Rising damp is caused by the damp course failing or being bridged on the other side. You need to address the cause first before repairing the plastering and skirting boards. Often damp proof render is used from the floor up to 1 metre high rather than gypsum plaster."
