Strengthen floor joists

My surveyor has said I may need the joists in the upstairs bathroom strengthening as the floor is tilting towards the bath/wall. How much would that cost? And will I need to have the bath and flooring removed for this? Thank you!

"Everything will have to be removed. another option is to drop the ceiling bellow and get at the joist that way. This needs to be assessed properly as its a structural job. Hiring the wrong person could lead to more bad than good. The actual fix isn't a hard or costly job its getting to the area. making sure your doing it right and also then rectifying anything you damage while doing this. We would probably look at the dropping of the ceiling as its much cheaper to re board and plaster rather than ripping out a full bathroom"

"If there is a problem with a sub floor in general the best thing to do is to have the original flooring up to access any areas that have the issues, you can alwasy screw any screws into joists to strengthen providing you have checked there is no water or gas pipes running level or through any joists. And you can also strengthen a floor with a 6-9mm ply wood of the hole area which can be glues and pinned some additional works can be latex over this to to help levels"

"Depends on how many joists you need renewing and also if the floor is also damaged, you will need the bath and flooring removed yes"

"You will need to remove as many floor boards as possible. If the joists are running parallel to the bath then the bath will need to be removed this will add time and cost. You can expect to pay between £400 and £1000 depending on how much will need to be removed then replaced
Hope this helps
Thx"
