Squeaking stair fix

Not sure what kind of tradesman would be best for a squeaky stair fix (pretty much every stair and no easy access from below. )It is 1998 new build house. Also what sort of cost? Will be covered by carpet afterwards. Thanks

"There must be access underneath usually plasterboarded over. This has to be removed to gain access to stabilize correctly.....otherwise its a screw and glue bodge from above"

"Very difficult to stop a squeaky staircase. The ideal way would be from underneath as most of the noise comes from where the riser meets the step. A good handyman or joiner would be ideal that has had experience of this type of thing."

"If carpet has not been laid as yet' my honest answer would be to paint the joints of the stair risers with linseed oil.
Like you would a willow cricket bat."
