"I would always call a plumber as ,the water needs to be turned of and the cartridge isnt as simple as you might think and if not put back the same way will cause leaks and shower not to work"

"No not really it's pretty straight forward but read instructions some are pre set for temperature and some need adjusting to temperature always put a coat of grase such as Vaseline a thin coat on the valve .
Just be careful I don't know what system you have but some cartridges are more expensive than the system itself

"I'd personally recommend calling a plumber unless you feel that your competent to carry it out, but remember water can do a lot of damage"

"Hi, this all depends on the accessibility of the mixer valve. Easier in a wall mounted unit than a reassessed one.
Some models are easier than others to replace.
As long as you make sure that both hot and cold water supplies to mixer valve are isolated first."

"It depends on your level of DIY skills plenty of videos about but if the pipework is hidden so you wouldn't spot a leak the potential damage could far outweigh the cost of just getting a plumber in"

"Any decent DIY person could do this. It’s a fairly straightforward job. It may just need the filters cleaned. (With someone else’s toothbrush:-) )"

"For someone who has the knowledge and experience might be easy. But even then sometimes difficulties may appear. I would highly reccomend to use a plumber to complete the job safely and properly."

"I would advise getting a plumber as you'd need specific tools and knowledge to identify the type of cartridge installed and sourcing it."
