Plastering question

Unfortunately I had a plasterer do a terrible job dry walls following a renovation. I am bringing in another plasterer to put right who wants to do two further finishing plaster coats… should I be concerned about the weight on the ceiling of the plaster??

"If its been a over skim ontop of artex then unfortunately I won't risk skiming again. You'll have to plasterboard over it. But if it's been skimmed over fresh boards then you'll be fine. Just two coats of pva then go again."

"Plaster over concrete or masonry is referred to as a maximum thickness. Without lath, the maximum is 5/8-inch for walls and 1/8-inch for ceilings. Plaster may be applied thicker, if lath is used."

"Hopefully the doggy plaster didn't put too much on ceelings and a thin finishing layer should be fine really as long as it's done by a experienced plasterer.
