Does an outdoor socket installed in a greenhouse need to be wired in or can the cable have a plug fitted and then plugged into a socket in the garage?

You will need the correct size swa that needs to be supported or buried  and I would recommend putting an rcd fused connection unit off one of the existing sockets

For a green house I recommend anything that works on 12 voltage, lights and heating. Avoid main power supply.

Be best solid wired in and will require rcd protection as it could be used outdoors.

As long as the socket you're plugging into is rcd protected that will be fine, it’s better practice to hard wire it.

The safest way would be to wire it in. You can either spur it off a socket in your house or a new circuit from the fuse board. I would advise to get a registered electrician to take out that work as it is notifiable works.

I would recommend a connection directly from the distribution board, connected to surge protection rcd, the unit will then run two or more sockets.

I would definitely hard wire the socket with some swa and fix a weatherproof socket  via an rcd connection.
