Keeping space clear outside house for removals

We don't have a car to keep the space clear outside our house for the removal company. Is it OK to rope a space off or do we need to ask permission from the council or something?

"Roping off will be fine. We normally suggest to our customers who don't have vehicles to put their bins in the road to reserve the space with a note saying 'Reserved for Removals van on *DATE*'."

"Options would be to chance it... and maybe get told to remove the barrier... or get another vehicle to temp park.."

"Acquire some large bollards and and put them out the night before in the curb, politely tell the neighbours if you have any close to you that your moving and the van/lorry would like to park there for easy access just for a few hours
Good luck"

"You can ask the council - most charge for this. We find it’s just as easy to put items in the space and stand on guard!!"

"Hi there
My response would be to ask the neighbours that yous are pla I g to move etc and that you ask if you leave the space clear for a couple if hours so that the van or vans can get in etc

"Just ask neighbours,explain what’s happening
Personally I would also put cone out or something. It could affect the price if the removal men have to walk further with your item"
