Install a gas cooker

Is it the same person who installs a gas and electric cooker? It's a gas hob and electric oven. There's a double socket behind the cooker but would need a cooker switch?

"Not always, you need a gas safe registered engineer for the gas side of things, and a certified electrician to install the electrical side of the job. Sometimes one man can do both but check first if they have the right qualifications."

"Julie.
The same person can install both items if qualified to do so.
I.e. gas safe certificated and electrical installation certified.
A lot of the kitchen installers have these qualified fitters.
Main reason being to be correctly installed and comply with safety regulations.
If not qualified it cannot be guaranteed esp for house insurance etc."

"No u need an electrician if your oven is hardwired but most come with a plug and a gas safe engineer to rig up your hob it is best to have a cooker switch above worktop height like a spur u would also need an electrician"

"For a gas hob you’ll need a Gas Safe registered engineer to connect it. The electric oven can usually be installed by an electrician if it just plugs into a double socket, but if a dedicated cooker switch or new wiring is required, then definitely an electrician should do it. Sometimes one tradesperson is qualified in both gas and electrics, but often you’ll need two separate people."

"You need a gas engineer to install a gas cooker.
If it is a mostly gas cooker ( not 50/50 gas hob and electric oven) then the only thing electric will be ignition. A simple socket will be more than adequate for that. I must stress this is from the I fo given."

"You will need a qualified gas engineer to fit your gas cooker. You will also need a fused spur for your cooker, if it does not already have one."
