How to stop patchy paint when using a roller?

Some areas look fine but others dry lighter or streaky, and it’s really obvious once the light hits the wall, but I don’t get what I'm doing wrong?

"Overlapping strokes and maintaining wet edges, whilst the Paint is wet. Also avoid pressing to hard on the rollee"

"Make sure when rolling out the the roller handle and edge of roller is clean and does not have a hind up of paint . On the end ..

Also when rolling out try to keep the space close together meaning when you roll out . One row maksre thr roller slight over laps the first row you down and go over it a few times to gain even smoothness. ."

"You have to put a nice evenly coat on with a long pile roller all over with a good quality paint."

"Hi. Patchy paint is bad prep of the given surface. It must be dust, damp and oil free. This will ensure no patchy paint. Plus use a quality undercoat before you apply a Top coat"

"Hi Tushar. Your doing nothing wrong as long as the paint is mixed correctly and your putting the paint on evenly. It sounds like the problem is the wall your painting. Was the wall wallpapered before or bare plaster on it in places. If so it will need sanded and prepared better and paint over it again. Or it could be the paint you’re using is a retail paint that just needs extra coats. Hope this helps.

"It may be the surface itself, especially if you paint over brick(plaster)and drywall. Could be unewen or lack of base binder. Also consider moisture. Some walls can get damp uneven."

"hi seams like the wall needs to be prepared better did you sand the wall gives a key for the paint and gets rid of any oils also stir the paint"

"the wall is most likley damp or will need sanding and need some treatment to the wall"

"Prep first: clean, sand, and use primer/mist coat if needed
Load roller properly: fully coated, not dry or dripping
Work in small sections: use a W pattern, then fill in
Keep a wet edge: don’t let areas dry before overlapping
Light pressure: don’t press hard
Use enough paint: reload often (don’t stretch it)
Finish with light strokes: roll top → bottom to smooth
Do 2 coats: first coat can look patchy—that’s normal

👉 Main rule: keep the roller wet, work steadily, and don’t overwork drying paint"

"Hi.
It sometimes happens that some contractors (not recommended) protect their tools by oiling them to prevent rust. They also use olive to smooth the top coat (this extends the drying time and smooths the surface more). This causes the paint to dry unevenly.
There are several ways to correct this:
1) Another coat of plaster.
2) Applying a double layer of undercoat.
3) Applying wallpaper for painting.
