How to replace a fence post

One of our timber fence posts has rotted at the base. I'm trying to work out if it's worth doing myself or if it's easier to get someone in. What tools and materials would I need to do this job?

"You would need some kind of breaker to get the concrete out from the under the soil and dig out by hand. Would need a new post and 2 bags of post fix just to be sure and a level"

"Hiya, It’s a doable DIY job but getting the old post and its concrete base out is the hard part (in my opinion). You’ll need a spade, crowbar, club hammer, a new treated timber post, and either a bag of Postcrete or a concrete repair spur if the rest of the post is still solid.

If it’s just rotten at the bottom you might get away with bolting a concrete spur to it rather than a full replacement- saves a lot of digging!"

"Best to dig out old post concrete, replace post and put post crete around new post, wait for it to set and put new fence to it."
