How to find a reputable handyman

How can I be sure I'm hiring a reputable handyman and not just a cowboy? Is there a trade association I can check with?

"Best way is to check all the reviews for that particular trade, if no reviews I would leave alone."

"You can search online to check if there business name is registered, also ask to see a copy of their Public liability insurance Certificate to make sure they’re insured in your home. Also details of previous jobs completed and photo evidence to prove. Sites like this are good for assurances as you can explore the tradesmens page and see all relevant documents"

"It is very good question!
In web sites you can read the reviews, look at the photos and then make the decision. Good luck!"

"Hi there,

My name is Paul, Director of GPT Property Services.

I am Sole Trader based Not LTD.
So as a Starting point I have already stated above - SOLE Trader is Not Ltd and will not be Recognised.

I never Recommend a Handyman if you have Not seen the Work or Reviews.
My Job Quote are not responsible for workmanship given they only Take Tradesman Details.

I am on My Job Quote and I am also Careful Who I Purchase regarding the work they Require.
I can Not Name and Shame but in the Seventeen Years I have seen some very Crazy workmanship and I have Had to Rectify due to customers calling me they are Desperate now and will pay!

I Only Work One way, ...And that is to get the Job Done in the Time that it Needs to be Done with the Correct Materials.
Money is HARD EARNED on Both Sides.

Kind regards,
PAul

"MOST handymen ate self taught with mo liability insurance. If they can only be contacted by mobile phone thats generally a sign there on the run or certainly mot payimg taxes
Personally id ask to visit where they live......then go and check......if its a dump youve answered your own question!"
