"Hi, There is no legal limit. Can run them as long as possible but the average life span is between 10-15 years depending on maintenance. Some old boiler ran twice as long"

However an EIGHT PLUS-year-old boiler may start causing you problems resulting in part changes which may work out alot more expensive....and alot better Solution would be to get a new boiler with TEN-year warranty. ๐"

gas regulations change all the time and the oldest style boilers (the back boiler's) may in future have to be replaced but for now, they give off good heat just not efficient but no rules on when boilers have to be replaced - down to you"
"8-10 years due to age and ware and tare on parts everything will start to fail"
