How often do boilers need replacing?

How long do boilers last on average before they generally need a replacement? Is there a legal limit as to how many years a boiler may be used for?

"Hi, There is no legal limit. Can run them as long as possible but the average life span is between 10-15 years depending on maintenance. Some old boiler ran twice as long"

"There is no time limit as such on the lifetime of a boiler. However an EIGHT PLUS-year-old boiler may start causing you problems resulting in part changes which may work out alot more expensive....and alot better Solution would be to get a new boiler with TEN-year warranty. 👍"

"Depending on the installation boiler can last way above the manufacturer's guarantee. I have known boilers to last over twenty-five years. If it is properly cared for."

"not at all, there are still boilers in from 70/80's

gas regulations change all the time and the oldest style boilers (the back boiler's) may in future have to be replaced but for now, they give off good heat just not efficient but no rules on when boilers have to be replaced - down to you"
