"Pellet burning stoves generally require less space for fuel storage compared to wood burning stoves. Here are some considerations for space requirements:

Fuel Storage: Pellet burning stoves use compacted wood pellets as fuel, usually stored in a hopper attached to the stove. The size of the hopper varies, but it typically doesn't require a separate storage area for fuel as it's contained within or on the stove itself. A small area nearby for pellet storage containers is sufficient.

Space Around the Stove: Pellet stoves require clearance space around them for safety. This clearance can vary depending on the specific model and regulations, but typically, manufacturers recommend several inches of space between the stove and nearby walls or furniture to allow for proper ventilation and heat dissipation.

Installation Space: The installation space needed for a pellet stove might differ from a wood burning stove due to ventilation and exhaust requirements. Some pellet stoves may need a direct venting system or access to a chimney for proper installation, while others might have different venting needs.

Comparatively, wood burning stoves might require more space for storing logs or wood and need a larger area for safe clearance due to the potential heat distribution and the need to keep combustible materials away from the stove.

In summary, pellet burning stoves generally require less space for fuel storage but still need clearance space for safety. The exact space requirements for both pellet and wood burning stoves can vary based on the specific model, installation guidelines, and local building codes, so it's recommended to consult the manufacturer's specifications or a professional installer for precise space requirements for your chosen stove."

"Hi
It will state the recommended minimum distance away from different surfaces in the stove manufactures guide for installation, it will vary from 1 stove to another , and obviously depends on the material around or in close proximity to the stove .
You could find a stove you are looking for if you have 1 in mind , and call the manufacturer or look in the installation guide .

I hope this helps"

"They can typically be placed 1 to 3 inches from the back wall and 6 to 7 inches from sidewalls. Because of the heat they generate, pellet stoves should be at least 36 inches from furniture and draperies and placed out of the main foot-traffic areas, especially in households with small children. Wood burning minimum to the rear and sides is 150mm."
