How much is a copper tank worth for scrap?

We're replacing our old copper hot water cylinder with a modern unvented unit. The old copper tank is coming out so is it worth selling for scrap and if so what's a rough price?

"Between 60/90.00 scrap value depending on cylinder, wouldn't be no point in selling to be honest"

"Depends on the size but you need to register at the scrap yard ect put in your car normally full of old limescale ect for between %30 and £80 .also of your hiring someone to do this we quite often factor in the scrap as part of the job example will need £40 in pipe and £20 in fittings the cylinder will cover that
Plumber will obviously not say no when you say can you leave it but can be a bit annoyed just a tip from experience."

"£60 upwards I would say, worth ringing around scrap yards see what prices are or look online for copper value. Prices vary depending on how clean the copper is as well."

"Yes — old copper hot water cylinders are usually worth scrapping, and they can often bring in a decent amount depending on size, weight, and how clean they are.

* Current UK scrap prices for copper tanks/cylinders are roughly £4–£6.50 per kg, depending on region and condition."
