How much does it cost to finish a basement?
We've got a cellar under our terraced house in Leeds, about 20 square metres, dry as far as we can tell but bare brick walls and a concrete floor. We'd like to turn it into a snug and home office, so tanking, insulation, flooring, lighting and a proper staircase instead of the ladder that's down there now. What sort of budget should we be working to, and does that kind of conversion need building regs sign-off?
