"It is always worth having your boiler checked for any small problems which you can potentially stop turning into bigger and more expensive ones.
A gas safe engineer will check the components on service and make sure it's in the best condition for the rigours of winter"
"You need to hire a professional man or woman who would check the safety of the boiler against any gas leaks, carbon monoxide and carry out a boiler service, which may include all the radiators in the house are working and hot"

Answered on 11th Jan 2022 - Member since Oct 2020 - report"Hi, you can do a basic visual check yourself.
Check the pressure is within 1 & 1.5 bar combi boiler, no water dripping under the boiler or unusual noise while it is running.
Open the hot water tap and check the flow is consistent and hot. If you have not had the boiler check or serviced for a few years and it is best to get an engineer to check and service it if required.
Ensure you buy a CO alarm and have this fitted by the boiler, this is a safety feature that alerts you in case of carbon monoxide leaks.
Hope this helps."
"The best way is to get a service done which should include both visual and physical checks as well as recommended maintenance tasks though it is important to realise that all modern boilers contain electrical components and just like your light bulbs these can go without any warning."
