"Hi Caroline, they should be producing between 15-20% of the solar energy into usable energy.

"Modern solar panels typically offer energy efficiency between 18% and 22%, which is considered good for residential and commercial use. Monocrystalline panels usually fall within this range and are the most efficient. Polycrystalline panels are slightly less efficient but more affordable. Panels below 15% efficiency are generally outdated. While efficiency is important, factors like durability, warranty, and cost per watt should also be considered when choosing the best solar panel system."

"There are many factors to take into account when answering that such as position, shading and location of property.

But as a rule of thumb most domestic panels are around 15-20% efficient.

You can get more efficient ones but they are considerably more expensive."
