How do i find my electrical safety certificate online

I've lost the original somewhere. Is it online or will the electrician who did it have a copy? Can't get in touch to ask him about it right now

"If you have the company name / details of who completed the work. You can check with the certification bodies that they are accredited. NICEIC, NAPIT, ECA are the main ones.

If they are accredited they should have up to date details, and potentially have electronic history of certificates issued to yourselves."

"There isn’t a central online database for electrical certificates. If you’re looking for a previous EICR, the best place to start is with the electrician or company who carried out the inspection, as they should have kept a copy. It’s also worth checking with your letting agent, solicitor, or building control if the report was done as part of a sale or rental requirement. If the original can’t be found, the only way to replace it is to have a new EICR carried out, as certificates can’t be reissued or duplicated by another electrician."

"Electrician should have a copy, or try to search in your emails
Due to EICRs not notifiable works you won't be able to find in online databases unless property agency uploaded"

"Check with the regulatory bodies like NICEIC or Napit as to conduct an electrical safety check the electrician would have to be a member of a governing body such as these and they would also have records"

"Yes you have to get in touch with the electrician and the electrician or the company that he is working for should have a copy of the certificate."
