House Alarm Niusance

Question

Since a recent power cut, my not in use house alarm has gone crazy. The alarm kept making chirping noises and then went off making such a noise that I took the plug out at the circuit break in my fuse. But it’s still making noises from the back up battery I think. What do I need to do to make it stop?

You need to get someone out to disconnect it completely or you’ll keep having the issue

Hello Pupleen,
You need to remove the 12 v back up battery by disconnecting the leads from +/- terminals. Thanks Ged.

Hi there. If it has a battery, installing a new battery will solve the problem. If not, it should be replaced with a new one.

Get a competent person and get it checked, most likely they need replacement with new ones.

Remove both terminals from the battery in the panel and the battery in the outdoor sounder (if neccessary).

There should be two back up batteries in an alarm system, one in control panel second in external bell. Both would require disconnecting
