"Hi.
I would remove the cement, clean the area and install timber supports and a peice of plywood to make flush with the existing floor.
I would need to see some photographs of the area to give an accurate answer.
Kindly Danny Laing."

"To fix the issue properly:
1. Remove Old Cement: Hire a builder to remove the poorly laid cement around the hole.
2. Reinforce the Hole: Install a sturdy plywood board or appropriate subfloor material, cut to fit and secured properly, ensuring it aligns with the surrounding floor level.
3. Re-cement: Fill the area with a self-leveling compound or cement to create a smooth, level surface.
4. Preparation for Wooden Floors: Ensure the entire floor is level and smooth before installing wooden flooring.

Consult a professional builder or flooring specialist to ensure the repair meets your future flooring needs."

"Find a Qualified Builder or Carpenter: Search for reputable professionals in your area who specialize in flooring or structural repairs. Look for online reviews, recommendations from friends or neighbors, or use trusted platforms like Checkatrade or Rated People in the UK to find someone reliable.

Assessment of the Current Work: A good builder will begin by assessing the current condition of the floor, particularly the improperly leveled cement. They should also check the subfloor structure to ensure there’s no hidden damage or weaknesses.

Remove the Cement: A skilled professional should carefully remove the cement that was applied improperly. This will help in restoring the integrity of the floor.

Install Plyboard Correctly: The builder will need to fit plywood (or another suitable subfloor material) securely in the hole. This ensures a level, sturdy foundation for future flooring.

Level the Floor: After the plyboard is in place, the floor must be leveled properly. This is crucial to prevent issues when you install wooden flooring later on. Self-leveling compounds are often used for this step.

Plan for Wooden Flooring: Once the subfloor is properly prepared, you’ll be ready for wooden flooring in the future. Discuss the type of wooden flooring you want with your builder so they can ensure everything is aligned for that project."
