What does it mean if wiring is frayed? What is this a sign of? How can frayed wiring be fixed? Thank you so much!

"Frayed wiring, is wiring chewed by rodents and can be dangerous.
The only way to fix this is the replace the wiring."

"You need the system tested and possibly rewired sounds like it has not been tested in a very long time"

"After visual inspection and insulation resistance, measures can be taken to insulate or change the cable."

"Hi Joyce , not sure what you mean by frayed it could be damage by rodents chewing or if it is old vir cable the cable could be breaking down vir would need to be completely replaced if that is the case. If you need anything check we could come end have a look if needed."

"Hi I take you mean the cables are damaged where are they frayed / damaged if so they would need inspected and tested.
Depending on test results and visual inspection the cables would be repaired / replaced as required."

"Depending on whether its fixed wiring or appliance wiring depends on how you deal with the issue.

If its fixed wiring then the only option is to replace it. It could also be an indication that the type of wiring within the home could be due to be replaced.

If its on an appliance then it may be possible to either remove the damaged section or replace the wire completely."
