Electric cooker switch

Hi, is there a minimum distance the switch should be sited from a freestanding electric cooker? My switch would appear to be in the hot zone above and to the side of where the cooker goes.

"There is no required minimum within bs7671, although 300mm is generally accepted practice when installing from new but if existing and just changing the cooker there is no requirement to move the switch"

"Depending which guide you read relating to cooker connection units near hobs and ovens, the distances range from 100mm to 300mm. As the recommended minimum distance for sockets near sinks is 300mm we would prefer to go by the 300mm rule based on the same factors as mentioned in the sockets and sinks guidance.."

"Should be within idealy one meter the closer the better but not within the width of the Cooker, and always readily accesible. Idealy 200mm minimum away from the edge of the cooker."

"Can't believe there are so many different answers to this question, I think it used to be 100mm, was then increased to 150mm, it certainly is not 300m"
