Electric boiler/water tank & heaters

We are looking to buy a property but they currently have old electric wall heaters and an outdated electric combi boiler with water tank.

We dont plan to change to gas combi but would be looking to install a new electric combi boiler and water tank and remove all of the old heaters and replace them with newer electric radiators that are essentially plug in and use. The current bathroom has a bad and basic electric shower but we plan to rip this out and only have a walk in shower so we need a suitable boiler for this use

We are looking for information on approximate costs to source and install a new electric boiler and water tank and remove all the old heaters safely.

"Electricity is still 3.3 times the cost of gas therefore if you have gas in the flat, use it & have a gas combi plus radiators installed. gas boiler flue needs to go through an external wall, so check property managers are OK with this.
Otherwise fit a slimJim electric boiler plus unvented cylinder & radiators. Much more expensive to install and run but no flue required & very little maintenance"

"The only way to go with electric water heating is invented water cylinders. The most affordable types are Telford 150 litre’s to 400 lites and shouldn’t cost no more than 800 to 1800 supply and fit all depending on size . Also there are some verry good electric space heaters on the market now . We have just installed five in a bungalow with a unvented 250 litre unvented hot water tank for 2400 pounds supplied and fitted"

"the costs for installing a new electric boiler, water tank, and replacing old heaters might vary slightly but follow a similar structure to the estimates provided earlier. Here's a breakdown:

Electric Boiler and Water Tank: An electric combi boiler in the UK can range from £1,000 to £3,000 or more, depending on brand, size, and efficiency. Water tank costs can vary between £300 to £1,500, based on capacity and quality.

Removal of Old Heaters: Removal of old electric wall heaters might cost between £80 to £250 per unit, considering labor and disposal fees. Again, costs may vary based on the complexity of removal and any repairs needed after removal.

New Electric Radiators: Electric radiators in the UK can range from £100 to £500 or more per unit, depending on size and features. Installation costs tend to be lower as they often only require plugging in.

Installation Costs: Installation costs for a new electric boiler and water tank in the UK may range from £500 to £2,000 or more, depending on the complexity of the installation and any additional plumbing or electrical work required.

Considering these estimates, the total cost for sourcing and installing a new electric boiler, water tank, removing old heaters, and installing new electric radiators could range from £3,000 to £10,000 or more in the UK, depending on specifications, brands, and specific property requirements.

To get the most accurate estimate for your property, it's advisable to consult with licensed professionals or companies specializing in heating and plumbing. They can provide precise quotes after evaluating your property and discussing your preferences and needs. Additionally, investing in energy-efficient options might involve higher initial costs but could lead to long-term savings in energy bills."

"Hi electric combi boilers will do the same as a gas boiler you won’t need the hot water tank in installing a electric boiler and you won’t need electric radiators they will be standard radiators run off the flow and return from the electric boiler it’s hard to say a price without looking as it would need all new pipe work to the radiators plus the cost off materials and labour ect im happy to come and take a look if needed"
