"Darker shades around windows, patio doors etc with lighter shades on adjacent walls. Or bold colour zones contrasting dark furniture maybe.
I would suggest going to your local dulux decorator centre and pick up some brochure & have a chat with them for ideas. good luck 👍🏻"

"An electic design is the broadest/varied design.

I personally love to start off with a small item that I like and it goes on from there."

"An eclectic design style is all about mixing and matching different styles, colors, patterns, and textures to create a unique and personalized look. Here are some steps you can take to achieve an eclectic design for your living room:

Determine your color scheme: An eclectic design can include a wide range of colors, but it's important to choose a color scheme that ties everything together. Consider using a neutral base color such as white, beige, or gray, and then add pops of color through accent pieces, textiles, and artwork.

Mix and match furniture styles: An eclectic design often features furniture pieces from different eras and styles. Mix and match traditional and contemporary styles to create a unique and cohesive look. Consider using vintage and antique furniture pieces alongside modern furniture to create a balance.

Play with patterns and textures: An eclectic design often incorporates a variety of patterns and textures. Mix and match different fabrics such as velvet, silk, and linen, and combine patterns such as florals, stripes, and geometric shapes.

Incorporate art and decor: Art and decor pieces are essential in creating an eclectic design. Hang an eclectic mix of artwork, including paintings, prints, and sculptures, and display unique decor pieces such as vintage lamps, candles, and decorative objects.

Layer rugs and textiles: Layering rugs and textiles can add depth and texture to a living room. Mix and match different fabrics and textures, such as a fluffy shag rug with a woven throw blanket.

Don't forget the lighting: Lighting is essential in creating an inviting and cozy living room. Use a combination of overhead lighting, table lamps, and floor lamps to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

By following these steps, you can create a unique and personalized eclectic design for your living room that reflects your individual style and personalities"

"The First step you would want to take is going to a site like Pinterest and forming a mood board based around all the styles that you would visually like to achieve.

Once you have done this you want to refine this down to 5-10 images that truly speak to you in terms of different styles, colour etc.

The trick in making eclectic work is to have a thread of consistency running through of some sort, to tie in the multiple "styles" you may be after.

An example of this could be keeping the furniture consistent with round shaped styles of chairs, sofas, prints etc
Or sourcing the different colours/ prints you're after with the same undertone.

This should be a great starting point!"

"You will look at colours and sofas to see if things match
