"If is old and in a bad shape replace, otherwise the faucet gland/valves can be replaced. Fairly quick and not expensive job."

"The tap valve is passing, either a new washer or cartridge needed"

"If the faucet looks good, it is enough to replace the gasket. But if it is old, do not worry, buy a new faucet."

"Hi Beverley,

A plumber or handyman/ general builder who does small jobs should be able to fix a dripping tap very quickly. It may be the case that the tap needs replacing, but even if this is the case it is a very small job so do not pay over 1 or 2 hours of labour for it. Often they will work with you to allow you to buy the faucet or valve from an external site to keep costs down further.

Thanks,
