Do you need to move the fuse box for a garage conversion?

We want to convert our integral garage and there's a consumer unit in there at the moment. Does it have to move or can the electrician work around it during the conversion?

"Hi Carol, they can work around it once it’s not in the builders way"

"It all depends on your requirements, if the consumer unit supplies the garage, you would to remove it, when the electrician installs the new cabling. However if it is the main consumer unit for the property he can work around it and you can have a joiner build a nice cupboard to hide it away."
