Do I need planning permission for a new roof?

Thinking about redoing the roof. Not changing the structure, just new tiles. Do I still need to get permission?

"Hope this helps:
Permission maybe not necessary but doing a building notice to building control is required, also note that when re doing a roof, if you strip more than 25% then insulation in the roof/ loft might require upgrading to current regs, again check building notice application with local building control."
