Should plug in electricals like microwaves and lamps in holiday lets be PAT tested?

At present there is only a requirement in the UK if the property let is in Scotland. Otherwise it is recommended but is NOT a legal requirement.

Yes they do. Like anything no one will check bit if something goes wrong your insurance wont pay out and then you become personally liable.
