Do BS1010-2 outdoor taps have check/return valves?

Hello, I’m just installing a soaker hose system and don’t know if my existing outdoor tap (fitted in 2014) has a double check/no return valve.

Can anyone advise if it’s likely to have?

    Many thanks.

"Most probably yes, but only way you could confirm by removing the tap from the bracket and check."

"Best way is just to take the tap off to be sure. The code has check vavles. some don't is there a little nut underneath the tap you can undo that nut and if you see plastic it's a check valve if not it's not."

"Yes they do have non return valves as it if they didn’t then to can syphon back and contaminate the main water supply. Thanks"

"A BS1010-2 does not come as standard with a check valve. You would require a BS1057 Standard, this is the requirement for outside taps. Easy way to check is does your tap have a small hexagonal nut at the beginning of the tap outlet"

"It should have a DCV yes. But you will only know by looking. Regulations at present state you must have a isolation point, DCV and plastic break fitting before the feed to your tap exits the building. Hope this helps. Thanks."
