"Congrats on the new TV!

Here’s what we’d recommend:

✅ Locate the metal studs (using a stud finder) — these are your strongest anchor points. Wherever possible, aim to fix the bracket directly into the metal studs rather than relying on plasterboard alone.

✅ Use specialist heavy-duty wall anchors designed for metal studs. For example:

- Snap toggles (toggle bolts) – great for hollow walls with metal studs, offering strong shear support.
- Spring toggles or GripIt fixings (rated for heavy loads) can work well if metal studs aren't in ideal positions.

✅ Choose a wall mount bracket that has multiple fixing points and spreads weight across a wide area."

"Hi Matthew, fitting any tv I would always advise to find a stud in the wall for your fixings, and then I would use 80mm timber lock screws (hex head), if not then you could use 5.0x90 wood screws, I would not advise using and type of plasterboard fixings. There are tv brackets made to accommodate this which are roughly 600mm wide so you can definitely hit at least one stud, hope this helps.

"The best thing to do is put some ply behind plaster board"

"A secure way of fixing a large TV is the get a large piece of ply and fix it to the wall were the studs are then screw TV mounts to the ply"

"Hi

2 options here

As the tv is being installed is 85", this would give alot of hidden space behind tv. I would suggest locating timber or stuff works with access holes then installing timber braces to ensure a solid fixing.

Alternatively you can grip it fixings from screwfix. Only tools required is a combi drill.

Hope this helps"

"Just use a stud finder to find the studs to screw to, then you can use 80mm screws"
