Crack in wall- how to fix

I have a large crack under my 1st floor window (inside and outside). From the inside it appears to go through the mortar and not the brick. What is the best way to fix this?

"You need to expose the crack inside and out,cut out the mortar joints and then bed stainless steel rods approximately 25mm depth into bed joint.
If you buy a Crack Stitching Kit online it will provide you with all the necessary materials and a spec to work to
If in doubt request a visit from a local structural engineer to inspect the area before replastering and repointing."

"Probably just due to movement, grind out mortar from affected area and repoint with sand a cement."

"Fix the mortar on the outside by repointing the brickwork, then repair the internal crack with some filler and then repaint"

"If it is a bay window, you need to check the support/load from ceiling level below.

If just a standard window, it needs a site inspection, as there are a few factors that can cause the crack"

"This sounds like you need a new lintel it’s quite common if you have an old wooden lintel, I hope this has helped"

"Well Sophie, you could rake out & repoint but it will only crack again. You really need to find out what is causing the problem. Sounds like the lintol below has failed. If that's the case you will need to replace it & rebuild the section of brickwork above."

"I would start by using a Helli bar system under window"

"This would need a visit and inspection, but from what has been described, we would recommend heli fix bars. But without inspection it is impossible to tell."
