Colour-matching paint

Colour-matching paint seems to work out cheaper than buying branded paints. Is there any downside to doing this?

"colour matching can provide accurate alternatives to designer branded colours, that as are in high quality trade paints, paint matching does help in choosing various colurs in the colour wheel, but in my experience trade paints offer better coverage, and this is due to trade named paints have a far thicker pigment , for far better coverage ."

"Colour matching by scanning is about 99.5% accurate on light colours
Darker colours are less accurate..
As long as you use a good quality paint there is no reason why colour matching shouldn't work"

"No .. obviously you want to use the right paint at the place . ( you don’t want to use Matt paint in the bathroom for example)"

"Yes, that is true. For example John’sstone painting limited is copying and painting brand and is cheaper and gives you nice finishing"

"Higher-quality paints have more of the all-important, yet more expensive prime pigments"

"Colour-matching is when you match your existing paint with the one your buying.
Maybe you want to know what’s the deference between branded and unbranded paints?"

"The only downside is the paint won’t be tougher and durable than most trade paints but will still give good results but won’t last as long"

"Just remember the quantities of the different colours and write them down.

Alternatively work out how much paint you need to cover the walls and mix that amount and mix a bit more as spare."
