  • Is sanitary sealant an acceptable alternative to glazing silicone for an internal window?

Can I use sanitary sealant instead of glazing silicone for bedding an interior window’s pane of glass into it’s frame ? It seems to be a very similar product, ie flexible, waterproof, acetoxy, and I happen to have a tube left over from a recently fitted bathroom. Any advice would be welcome. Thank you.

    Window seal replacement

I've noticed that when I open my double glazed windows, the seal on the inside are damaged and has a lot of mould. I used to be able to get away with cleaning the inner pvc area once every six months yet I'm noticing it getting mould quickly and needing done at least once a month to stop it from building up. It's mostly affecting the bedroom windows and my upper hallway. I've noticed these windows getting a lot of condensation as well. Is it possible to replace this inside seal and if so what roughly would it cost to do something like this? The windows are between ten and twelve years old I think. Would ideally not want to completely replace as its not within budget just now.

    External Window Beads

I am currently looking at looking to purchase a property and in the survey report it was spotted that the window Beads are on the outside of the property. Does this mean that someone can remove the windows to gain access to the property? Would such a defect void a contents insurance policy? Are there any means of securing the windows even if they are they other way round?

    Repair Roof Lantern

Hi, I am looking for someone to check and probably repair a roof lantern which was installed 2 years ago. There seems to be an issue with one of the panes and it looks like it has dropped, now letting water into the house. How can I fix?

What can I do about condensation between double-glazed windows?

Hello all I have found that I have two windows which have been developing condensation in between the glass panels. Is this usual for double glazed windows? As I have never seen this happen before, I had suspected that they may have a gap allowing for the water vapour to get in – is there any ways to fix this or at least keep the glass clean enough? If this isn’t repairable and needs replacement – is there any causes that could prevent it happening again? Thanks
