We are about to embark on a kitchen remodel on our new house, and stripped back the lovely paper that was on the walls and ceiling (!) to find chipped and cracked concrete with some plaster where the tiles were. Is it possible to plaster this, or would it be better to drywall? Thanks!
Hi I'm renovating my house and can see a few cracks on my walls, also is it normal to see the metal trims on the window? I feel like the plastering has been done very thinly
Crumbly plaster and little bulge in wall. Not sure who I need to fix it. Old terraced house.
I’m trying to find out if it would be possible to get my front steps skimmed - they’re outdoors and are just needing a wee bit TLC. It’s 8 stairs and possibly the ground right at the front door and side of the staircase. If possible, a rough idea of cost would be great too.
Hello all We have recently stripped wallpaper from a wall as part of our renovations and found some hairline cracks along the plaster. (The plaster itself is still completely solid and no loose sections to worry about.) I had been advised to use scrim tape for hairline cracks in plaster. Before priming the walls to be skimmed, should these cracks be sealed with scrim tape, before the walls are primed to be skimmed? Is there any risks to the plaster over the long term by using the scrim tape? If anyone has any other suggestions for hairline cracks, besides re-plastering the section, please let me know.
I need to render a partial extension and some other repair work. The issue I have is the walls are uneven and there are slight differences in where the brickwork and blocks come out to. When putting the scratch coat on can it be thicker in sections to try and even it out or do I need to put a coat on, let it dry then put another scratch coat on top? What's the best way of dealing with rendering the uneven walls?
How much per sqm would skimming over Artex cost these days? To include cost of materials. I have a hundred and five sqm house with 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room, living room kitchen, utility room, hallway, staircase - all ceilings are with Artex. House was built in late 90's I expect it's more than I think...
I keep seeing both terms used but not sure if they’re the same thing or not?
I'm having a new room created in a bedroom and wanted to know if I should go all the way down to the floor with the plasterboards?
Which is more thermally efficient and weatherproof wood cladding or render?
