  • How to remove skirting board without disturbing the plaster

In the middle of renovating some rooms. I want to take the skirting board off before decorating, but I’m worried I’ll end up ripping chunks out of the plaster if I’m not careful. How do I go about removing and replacing the skirting board without causing damage that creates more work?

    How long does plaster last?

Got a house with plaster that's probably 50+ years old in some rooms. At what point does plaster genuinely need to come off and be replaced, versus just being skimmed over?

How to paint over water stains on a ceiling?

We had a leak from the bathroom which has now been fixed but it has left brown marks on the ceiling below. Will they bleed through if I simply paint over them or does something need to go on first?

Dulux Trade Diamond vs Easycare kitchen

We're getting a new kitchen & have chosen the colour. But, whats the difference between Dulux Trade Diamond Matt & Dulux Easycare Kitchen? We'd prefer to have a matt finish as the new cupboards and tiles are already slightly shiny. I've read the trade diamond can be used in the kitchen & is scrubbable, but does anyone have any experience with it in a kitchen? Also, we're having a wide glass splashback, so oil stains aren't a worry.

Do I need to prep walls before painting?

I'm repainting a room where the walls are pretty smooth as they were replastered a few years ago. So, is there any prep I need to do or can I just slap the new coat of paint on?
