The best place to buy vinyl tiles for a large room, on a tight budget.
Are concrete floors in general suitable to go with underfloor heating or will they be too thick that the heat won't rise through effectively? What about safety concerns? Thanks.
I'd like to replace the carpet in the living room (16 m2) of my ground floor flat (circa 1900) with a new flooring type; something that I can easily wipe clean. Unfortunately, the room clearly slopes down on one side. I am aware that I can have the floorboards raised and the joists packed and levelled but worry about the cost of that process. Other than carpet, do I have any other options? Would linoleum or cork be suitable?
What type of flooring does not go well with underfloor heating? And what are some well-suited options that I should consider?
How can I ensure that the bamboo flooring I purchase is sustainably and ethically sourced?
We are renovating a downstairs room that has a lino floor. When we took the skirting boards off and lifted the edge of the lino we found that the concrete didn’t go all the way to the walls ( 1 inch gap all the way round) and the gaps appear to be filled with loose material. When our radiator was fitted the concrete on the floor broke and we found it was only about 1cm thick. Do we need to get the whole floor re-done before replacing skirting and getting carpets fitted or is this a quick fix for any cracks or holes we find?
Hi, I've noticed a slight bowing in the floor in my living room/dining room. Our survey didn't pick up any subsidence so I don't think it's that but I think the issue might be with the wooden floorboards under the carpet. Googling has made me think I might need floorboards and joists replaced but I wanted to know - what scope of job should I be expecting to enter into? For a room measuring roughly 4m by 7m. Would it be a fix costing 1000s, tens of 1000s? Any help or advice appreciated.
