Can you install luxury vinyl on a hard surface floor?
Is it okay to fit luxury vinyl atop a hard surface floor? If so, are there any notes of caution I should take into consideration? Also, could I do this DIY or should I really hire a professional?

"Yes, you can but…There are many different subfloor preparation steps you must abide by before you fit,
A wooden floor - you must use SP101 6mm plywood
A concrete floor - you must moisture test first, depending on the results you may need a liquid dpm before a coat of minimum of 3mm latex, and again it depends on what the concrete is made of, normal sand and cement or gypsum,
In other words, I would 100% get a flooring professional, not a builder, not a carpenter but a dedicated floor layer with the correct certificates needed to guarantee your new LVT,

"No you can not do that. You have to remove the existing floor and lay a plywood before installing the vinyl."
